About MEDEK

Introduction

The first steps of the Association were taken with the encouragement and support of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in order to improve the qualifications of Vocational Schools and their graduates and to contribute to the qualified workforce within the framework of Türkiye’s strategic development plans. With this motivation and the support of our universities, the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) was established in 2021.

In 2023, the Association was authorized by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) to carry out accreditation for 83 Vocational School programs in order to evaluate the compliance of Vocational School programs with the determined standards, quality criteria and performance indicators.

Our Association, which is authorized in the field of accreditation, contributes to shaping the qualified workforce of the future by certifying that Vocational School programs comply with the determined standards, quality criteria and performance indicators. Through the processes to be carried out meticulously by our experienced team, the quality standards of Vocational School programs will improve, education and training processes will be enhanced, learning outcomes among Vocational Schools will become more consistent, the reliability of competencies will be ensured, and inter-institutional recognition processes will be facilitated. In addition, it will become possible to use the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo on diplomas in accordance with the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Thanks to the TQF-EQF compatibility of accredited programs, diplomas will become internationally recognized, and national and international horizontal and vertical mobility will improve positively. In this way, enterprises will have access to more qualified human resources, while Vocational School students will be able to find employment more easily.

Mission

MEDEK’s Mission is to contribute to improving the quality of education and training by providing information, external evaluation and accreditation services for associate degree programs.

Vision

MEDEK’s Vision is to become a pioneering organization that certifies quality by defining the education and research activities/administrative processes of associate degree programs and the quality of intermediate workforce according to national and international standards, and by sharing the results with relevant institutions and organizations.

Purpose

To lead the training of vocational personnel who follow professional developments, can respond to changing workforce needs, have high professional skills and competencies, are innovative, have social responsibility, can take initiative, and possess the qualifications sought by the relevant sector.
